We can bring a Norwich Puppet Theatre production to your school, or welcome a group to the Theatre for a special school trip experience. Our school shows offer a magical introduction to live performance and our puppeteers are happy to take questions from pupils after the show.
Most of our school shows are based on traditional stories or children’s books, and they provide plenty of opportunities for cross-curriculum inspiration and learning. Teaching resource packs are also often available.
Please find more information about our available school shows below.
To book any of the below shows for a performance at your school, please email [email protected] or telephone 01603 615564. Please be aware that the touring team work part time, so email is the best first point of contact.

The Story
There was once a little girl so small she could float on a lily pad and ride on the back of a dragonfly…
Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of a girl no bigger than a thumb and her encounters with a frog, mouse, mole and swallow, is played gently amongst gardening tools, leading her to ultimate happiness in the kingdom of flowers.
Our Production
The story is told using rod puppets, glove puppets and shadow puppetry combined with traditional storytelling, music, movement and strong character acting. An excellent introduction for young children to the magic of theatre.
