Sat 9th Oct 2021

Price: £0.00 - £11.37

Running time: 3 hours

Brooke has it all: the job, the flat, the girlfriend… but what happens when things
go tits up just before your 30th birthday? Brooke looks online for answers but it
feels like everyone’s doing so much better than she is, and her overbearing
mother is only another reminder of what life’s supposed to look like by now.
A bisexual Bridget Jones for the online generation, this tragicomic one-woman
play and its lovably hapless heroine is for anyone who’s wondered why they feel
so lonely when connecting with others is meant to be easier than ever.
Developed on the Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab and longlisted for the Tony Craze
Award 2018 this is writer/performer Sadie Clark’s debut play. Directed by
Madelaine Moore whose credits include: ‘Ladykiller’ (WINNER VAULTS 2019
Pleasance Award, Pleasance London, Pleasance Courtyard Edinburgh, Oldham
Coliseum), double OFFIE nominated ‘Coconut’ (Ovalhouse & National tour) and
multiple OFFIE & Broadway World nominated ‘The Awakening’ (Jack Studio).
“A brave, bold and brilliantly funny show” (Lisa Walters, Channel 4)

As the Wheel turns and the leaves turn red and gold we gather and reconnect with the Earth, our community and our Ancestors. Join Touch the Earth for an Evening of Music, Songs and Chants Honouring the Mother, Celebrating and Dancing with the Spirit of the Hearth fire that brings us together.

At this concert we are joined by very special guests from the Norfolk Goddess temple who will create ceremony and share Chants that take us through the wheel of the year, culminating in an evocation of Boudicca and Andraste!

Touch the Earth are a Tribal Folk Band that draw their inspiration from the natural world around them, their music has been described as: ‘A vibration of pure energy gathers one up, the flutes, violin, guitar, didge, drummers and singers are part of this surrealism – the essence is pure spirit.’ – The Holistic Channel

They are unique in their instruments and approach to performance, in addition to the more traditional Guitar, Fiddle and Voice they also use big native American style Pow Wow drums, Djembe, Didgeridoo’s, Native American style flutes and the 7ft Fujara: a Slovakian shepherds flute which creates otherworldly soundscapes. Their concerts are a mixture of songs, ballads and improvised pieces which frequently take the listeners imagination to the wild places of this land.
