Our volunteers are essential in helping us to make our work at Norwich Puppet Theatre a success.
The special people who volunteer to spend their free time are what makes NPT the magical place it is. From helping run workshops, to ushering shows, and serving behind the bar – we couldn’t do it without them.
The pandemic meant we couldn’t see many of our volunteers for quite some time. Getting them in for cake and a catch up was one of the first things we did when re-opening. That’s how much we missed them! They’ve been instrumental in getting us back up and running. We can’t thank them enough.
Ella Daymond, 25, said “Volunteering for Norwich Puppet Theatre is rewarding, often surprising, and always full of joy. Within the unique historic building there is something for everyone. A creative community full of colourful characters (both human and puppet!).”
A particular highlight for Ella is watching how puppetry and the arts can engage and excite all ages. “Leaving the Theatre covered in glitter and glue is the sign of a good workshop! And hearing the audience’s reaction to a new production never gets old…”
Our Administrative Assistant, Molly, chatted to volunteer Mike Hannant who said “I’ve been a volunteer since before the first show 40 years ago and never stopped. It’s like my second home.” Mike was part of the construction process when the building was turned from a Night Shelter in the Theatre it is today!
We’re always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers. If you’d like to be part of our team take a look at our application form.
