We can bring a Norwich Puppet Theatre production to your school, or welcome a group to the Theatre for a special school trip experience. Our shows offer a magical introduction to live performance and our puppeteers are happy to take questions from pupils after the show.

Most of our shows are based on traditional stories or children’s books, and they provide plenty of opportunities for cross-curriculum inspiration and learning. Teaching resource packs are available and corresponding workshops can be booked alongside a performance.

The Story

Join our puppet Pinocchio on a fast-paced adventure of self-discovery, as they try, fail, and try again to find their heart and become a real person.

It’s a playful story exploring what it means to love – with hints of danger, slapstick humour and a very big fish!

Our Production

This highly visual production is bursting with puppetry, object theatre, and an atmospheric silent-film-eque soundtrack.

We will have a Visual Story available for the show closer to the time.

When the Pied Piper plays his flute the rats run, the greedy mayor rubs his hands and the children dance…

Norwich Puppet Theatre’s humorous and irresistible one person show combines a skilful mix of puppetry, foot-tapping music and storytelling and will have audiences young and old entranced.

Our Production

A lively re-telling of the traditional tale drawing on the story’s historical origins, the Brothers Grimm tale and the Robert Browning poem of the Pied Piper.

The performance combines inventive settings with a rich mix of puppetry and music.

The Story

There was once a little girl so small she could float on a lily pad and ride on the back of a dragonfly…

Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of a girl no bigger than a thumb and her encounters with a frog, mouse, mole and swallow, is played gently amongst gardening tools, leading her to ultimate happiness in the kingdom of flowers.

Our Production

The story is told using rod puppets, glove puppets and shadow puppetry combined with traditional storytelling, music, movement and strong character acting. An excellent introduction for young children to the magic of theatre.
