pFITE24 Climate Concert

pFITE24 is an online climate competition for poets and musicians; show your support by coming to this showcase concert and visiting the YouTube playlist, giving the thumbs up to the entries you like:

The concert promises to be an excellent experience featuring:

Oli Frost – a comic songwriter who has received 3million internet views with his climate songs, including one that got it all started for him and his entry into pFITE24, ‘The Greta Thunberg Song’.

Gommie – brilliant performance poet-artist, both funny and emotionally sophisticated.  He will be performing his pFITE24 entry ‘Plastic Creatures’ and showing his artwork (recently on sale at Bonhams).

Al O’Kane – morphing swampy blues and folk into the sound of “Celtic resistance rock’n’roll” – this is “West Country Gumbo from the Somerset Delta” – “a cry for action nestled into a fiery acoustic blend” (Davey Ray Moor). Al is making the long journey to Norwich to perform an exciting solo set for you.

Stella/Owen Evans – local acting star Owen Evans (of the Nimmo Twins) will be performing a poem written by his mum Stella, her entry into pFITE24.

John and Pauline Pearce – with a sound reminiscent of Richard and Linda Thompson, up and coming Norfolk folk duo will be presenting some of their carefully crafted songs, including pFITE24 entry ‘The Wild and Rolling Sea’.

Home Stage is building an online archive of Climate Songs and Poetry called the pFITE Climate Collection.  Although pFITE stands for Poetry and Folk In The Environment you will find contributions from a great variety of spoken word and music artists expressing emotions such as love, grief and anger, but always it seems…hope.. The important thing is the link to the environment.
