Laika is no ordinary dog. She has been specially selected by the Space Agency to become the first animal to orbit to earth. Her training is rigorous and she is finally ready for launch day. With the help of her friend from the Sputnik Canine Support team, Laika goes through her preparations and straps in to blast off!

Laika The Space Dog is a lively family show that retells the story of Laika, the first dog in space (with a twist)! Audiences are invited to see an alternative ending whereby Laika undertakes the journey of a lifetime, returning to earth to a joyous Shero’s welcome. Featuring a beautifully crafted puppet, a riveting soundtrack and a few surprises, Laika the Space Dog will delight children over the age of 3 and their adults too.

The show is approximately 20 minutes long and will be followed by a drop-in style workshop where all audience members can get crafty with a making activity. In this workshop, participants can make a pop-up space-pup puppet, as well as joining in with some other activities. Participants will have a total of 1h 30m in the space to watch the show, make some puppets and have a picnic if they want to.
