Tim Hunkin will give a talk about his life building machines involving past and current construction projects, including the amazing 'Under the Pier Show' amusement arcade on Southwold Pier.

The talk alone can be booked at a cost of £5

This will be followed by a Mechanical Surgery which will provide an opportunity for designers and makers to bring in designs and ideas for what they want to make and explore different techniques and work on specific problems with Tim's advice.

This is a great opportunity for students, professional makers and enthusiasts.

Tim Hunkin trained as an engineer, but then became a cartoonist for the Observer. His next career was in television, writing and presenting three series of 'The Secret Life of Machines' for channel 4.

For the last two years he has been obsessed by his 'Under the pier show' amusement arcade on Southwold pier.

Participants at the Mechanical Surgery paying £25 will automatically have access to the talk.
