Volunteer With Us

Norwich Puppet Theatre relies on many wonderful people who volunteer  with us and to keep us up and running. There are a huge variety of tasks which we need help with; everything from pouring champagne at weddings, to ushering shows, and readying materials for workshops.

Volunteering with us is a great way to gain experiences, meet new people, and have some creative fun!

All our volunteers must be DBS checked and have filled in one of our volunteer forms before they can start working with us.

Please download the Volunteer Application Form, fill in your details and then email it to [email protected]

We are currently specifically looking for a volunteer Chair and Vice Chair for our board of trustees. To download our information pack for these roles, click here.

Ushers and Front of House Team

Our public events are made wonderful thanks to our friendly front of house volunteers. From checking tickets to pouring drinks, these volunteers are mostly needed on evenings, weekends and during school holidays. Front of house volunteers get the bonus of a free puppet show every now and then too!

Workshop Volunteer

We need enthusiastic people to help with our public programme of children’s workshops. You don’t need to be especially creative, but you must enjoy working with children and be happy using a glue gun! This role is all about facilitating the children’s imaginations, helping to turn their vision into glorious puppet reality. There’s always a bit of tidying up involved too, of course.

Our workshops normally take place during weekends and school holidays, but we sometimes need help during weekdays too, especially with organising donated materials.

Office Assistants

If you want to gain experience working in Arts administration, our small office team are always looking for helpers. Perfect for people who like organising things, are good with IT, and who don’t mind making phone calls and writing emails.

Volunteer Makers and Doers

Sometimes we just need a little help moving items, fixing things, and generally doing bits and pieces around the building. If you are skilled with tools or a handy person who likes a bit of everything, do get in touch.
